A Trip Down Market Street (1906)
I think I’ve posted this before (not with this soundtrack though, it was a silent film), but didn’t realise it had been sent away on the evening before the quake – and hadn’t seen this picture on Shorpy on pretty much what this view down Market Street looked like a week or two later:

Before the earthquake
Footage of San Francisco’s Market Street, taken from a camera mounted to a cable car on April 14, 1906– just four days before the big earthquake. This is apparently the first 35mm film ever taken. The Ferry Building, at the end of the street, is still there.
