Love this picture of Louis Coulon, 1904. I have it as my Lock screen on my phone – how 2012! You might know the wallpaper image, an image I aspire to and look at every day. It’s this picture of Henry of Battenburg I posted months ago

I know it’s easy to read in a gay subtext into those Victorian ‘bromance’ pictures but this one takes the cake – they can’t be just ‘friends’?!?

Why do the authors have it going on? Henry James again…

I know this is a repost of the lovely yet sadly doomed Henry of Battenberg in a kilt – any excuse – but I’ve ordered an Argyll kilt jacket in the same tweed (hopefully – damn those black and white pictures!) which will be arriving in 4-5 weeks. I’ve always loved this combo.
Next stop will be a high-necked waistcoat in the same, if they can do that cut. Oh and I need a cap – my breton cap went AWOL *sigh*

Victorian daddy bears, oh my!
Oh right they are just ‘friends’ showing their 1800’s ‘bromance’ are they? Pssst, yeah right…how long will historians pull that one?
