- Steve XProcess new scan
I've bought a Nikon Coolscan 8000 which does medium format - here's a new scan of my Xprocess 6x6 Bronica SQ shot of Steve, 2009, Fuji colour neg film (RDPW?), crossprocessed. This is closer to what was shot - strangely the prints I got back in 2009 had a yellow/green cast which I like but looks rather odd - and isn't completely on the negs!) - berwick-John-v2
Berwick August 2004 - Fuji Provia 100F scanned by Nikon Coolscan 8000. - Steve
Steve Medium Fomat - June 2009 - new scans, Fuji cross processed. - John May 2001
Some scans from Kodachrome 2001 - Kirk, Godalming College 1992
First pictures I took in black and white - and this was the first portrait I was proud of, and first pictures I developed myself, circa 91. Iford 'Safety Film' (!) FP4. Camera was a strange secondhand Russian or German camera with an odd square aperture which had problems focusing (I think the lens was coming away!). Negs are in a terrible state I've done what I can but it's like snow if you zoom in...I rewashed them which made a massive difference but bad handling before I had a clue, storage and dusty/scratchy enlargers and I think underdeveloping and/or crap in the developer haven't helped. You name it these negs have it: hairs, dust, odd watermarks, gunk on the negs that won't wash off, scratches, damaged emulsion, holes in the film (!) *sigh* First pictures I took in black and white - and this was the first portrait I was proud of, and first pictures I developed myself, circa 91. What was your first b&w film like? - Cameraless self portraits, 1998
I rarely add my self portraits, feeling rather self concious unless I am showing something off (new gear etc) but I've taken many since degree days as I'm the most available model I have - certainly there's no desire to see my fizog plastered anywhere, I wince at my own face. But here are some interesting experiments in scanner photography, using a scanner to take pictures - including moving your head when the scanner head moves...similar to photocopy photography too... - Cameraless self portraits, 1998
