- Self Portrait (week 9)
This is a self-portrait I took on the Portrait Course ad-hoc - an experiment in soft light bouncing from the ceiling I want to know what happened if the subject took the picture. There are many things wrong with this picture, but I like it despite and because of them...the soft light and the faded/flarey contrast makes for an interesting portrait. - Last Blur concert in Hyde Park

I've already decided to call it 'Fred' (Frederick) after my grandfather. Lovely bit of kit, the kind of engineering you rarely get nowadays, mostly metal, mostly manual and just works. - Self Portrait
Home studio lighting studies using just two Vivitar 283 Flash guns and Cactus Wireless triggers v4 (I'm really impressed, and for a tenth of the price of pocket wizards and a much improved trigger rate (I only had some not fire at the end, was probably the flashgun batteries running low - I'd recon 90-99% trigger rate), also trying out my new Sekonic L-308s...thank science for Hong Kong ebay importers... Oh and never throw out your sheets of polystyrene, they make GREAT reflectors! Found some for free on the street...nice price :-D - Self Portrait
