Can’t resist one last one of President Garfield via the ever bountiful LOC – only info is Sarony, N.Y.and it was taken between 1870-1881 when he was assasinated.
Random fact: Garfield had a dog while he was president called Veto as a dig at Congress.

The American Colonization Society was organized in 1817 to settle black Americans in Liberia, and from 1821 on, thousands made the move. In 1847, Liberia declared itself an independent state when they founded the Republic of Liberia.
